  • Bringing On an Experienced Partner

I have developed an innovative beer recipe and spent considerable time formulating a strategy to brand it and sell it. I am having trouble with two major decisions (I'll post the second one separately as the two may fall in separate categories):

Should I bring on an experienced partner to help with marketing and distribution? I consider myself pretty marketing savvy, but I have zero experience with things like focus groups, point of sale materials, etc. I'm not too concerned with the big picture marketing, as my product is very unique and will benefit from word-of-mouth. And perhaps its unprofessional feel may add to the overall vibe. Also, if I did bring someone on, I wouldn't really know how to create an appropriate ownership structure. It would be difficult to say how much work has already been done and what the responsibilities would be going forward. For the sake of this discussion I would like to assume that I will be using a contract brewer. Thanks.
