Head Brewer Position - Brewing Company The Table, South Korea
The Table Brewery has been operating in Korea for the past 7 years. We have two locations - our initial tap house in downtown Seoul, and our brewpub located in Ilsan ( a suburb of Seoul). The attention on craft brewing has been growing immensely the past few years, and we’ve seen many changes in the industry here. Traditionally we’ve been focused on brewing a quality and consistent core line up of beers, and recently have begun to branch out and explore new recipes and styles. We have been a leader opening our facilities as an incubator for many up-and-coming young brewers, as well as seeing a marked increase in the demand for our own products.
As our business grows, we are planning to expand our current operations to a new larger production brewery and seek a candidate to help lead our team and the expansion process.
The right candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, a passion for detail, a deep understanding of all aspects of the brewing process (scheduling, ingredients, brewing, cellaring, packaging), and a desire to contribute to the growth of beer culture in Korea.
Requirements :
Education and Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a production brewery. Including experience as a Lead/Head Brewer. Formal brewing education is preferred.
Physical: Comfortable lifting and maneuvering malt, kegs, and oak barrels (55+ pounds repeatedly). Proper handling of hazardous materials, and operation of machinery.*
Working hours: Flexible schedule, although will require frequent evening and weekend shifts. May require attendance to festival and trade shows, as well as some education related events for staff / customers.*
Commitment: We are hoping to find someone who is interested in spending a minimum of 2-3 years abroad and is comfortable with the stresses of living in a foreign country.*(We’ll help to make sure you are set up and comfortable )
Criminal record check, and drug screening are required by Korean Law.
Compensation:
Competitive compensation with American standards, health care coverage, assistance with housing and some relocation expenses covered.
