    COMPANY OVERVIEW:
    Wildcard Brewing Co. in Redding, CA has an immediate opening for a Head Brewer. We are a growing company that distributes in 14 Northern CA counties and is in the process of opening a second tap house in Redding. In 2015 we will produce just over 2,000 bbls and expect that number to grow to 3,000 bbl in 2016.

    In 2013 we installed a new 15bbl brew house and in 2014 launched our beers in 22oz bottles. All of our beers are produced and packaged in house. We also brew and package for other beer companies in CA. At any time we generally have 4-5 bottled beers available to retailers and roughly 8-10 draft options.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    JOB OVERVIEW:
    The head brewer will manage and oversee all brewhouse and cellar operations. This is a very hands-on position; in addition to all day to day brewhouse and cellar operations, the head brewer will oversee brewhouse personnel, production scheduling, inventory, and packaging. The candidate must be able to multi-task efficiently, problem solve, and serve as team leader. Hours will vary to align with staffing and production needs. This person will be expected to work a variety of day, evening and early morning shifts.

    RESPONSIBILITES:
    • Strong technical understanding of the entire brewing process. Grain to Glass.
    • Proven experience in recipe formulation.
    • Excellent management skills and the ability to teach and motivate new staff.
    • Manage day to day operations of the brewing team including writing team member schedule.
    • Team focused, can do attitude.
    • Manage and organize brewhouse, cellar, warehouse, and refrigeration areas including conducting preventative maintenance on equipment, overseeing cleanliness of all workplace areas, managing inventory of all raw materials, chemicals and supplies.
    • Develop and implement SOPs.
    • Work closely with leadership and sales department to create and manage production schedule.
    • Ensure that recipes are brewed to specification. Monitor efficiencies. Ability to document and be detail orientated.
    • Manage Barrel Program.
    • Oversee packaging operations. Run the bottling line and labeler at a high efficiency. We use a 2015 Meheen six head filler.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Candidates for consideration must show 2 years prior brewing experience.
    • Education from an accredited brewing program a plus.
    • Prior experience in a head brewer role is a plus.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Must be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.

    Pay to be based on experience.
