    WHY BE HALF FULL?

    At Half Full Brewery, we’re passionate about optimism. Like, throw caution to the wind and build a brewery kind of optimism. To this end, our mission is to inspire people to be optimistic – in business and in life! And this carries over into everything we do, from the beers we brew, to the events we throw, to the people we hire. Because let’s face it – it’s a lot more rewarding to be a glass half full type of person than the alternative!

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Since opening in late 2012, Half Full has experienced consistent growth and is aiming to produce more than 5,000 barrels next year. The Head of Brewery Operations will be responsible for
    • Managing all day-to-day brewery operations of our 20BBL brew house operation and canning line.
    • Leading and scheduling the brewers, cellarman, and packaging personnel.
    • Expanding our current laboratory operation and overseeing QA/QC.
    • Managing inventory and our supply chain.
    • Overseeing and improving production efficiency.
    • New recipe development.


    In addition to the above, we need someone who is a(n):
    • Leader – The person Half Full is looking for is a leader. They will report directly to the Founder and have the autonomy to set their own processes and recipes. The Head of Brewery Operations needs to be able to educate and enable their staff and set/participate in the culture of Half Full.
    • Experienced Production Brewer – We need someone with 5+ years of production brewing experience.
    • Problem Solver – We need someone who is adept at solving problems on the fly through his/her experience or through outreach to his/her extensive network.
    • Process Expert – We need someone who can build, maintain, and manage others to adhere to SOPs that will produce the very best quality beer, from fermentation to packaging to the lab.
    • Efficiency Expert – We need a manager who discovers ways to maximize our yields, labor, and capacity.
    • Creative – We need someone who is creative in his/her approach to brewing and who can help us become a leader of the local, regional, and national craft beer movement.



    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must be able to lift, carry or move over 55 lbs. regularly
    • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, reach over head and use hands
    • Must be able to climb ladders



    COMPENSATION:
    • Compensation based on qualifications and experience, commensurate with packages offered by regional breweries.
