  • Glycol Port Question - round two

Okay, now that I have figured out the flow of my tank, I am confused as I 'thought' that each cooling zone (we have three zones) on the tank would be independent or isolated from the next. After I pumped glycol and allowed a little pressure to build, glycol started flowing out of another port that I am not currently utilizing. Is this always the case or does it just indicate an internal leak within this jacketed port?

If it is a leak, I assume that I can just combine the ports into one zone, going into the lowest port, and out the highest port?

Time to contact the vessel manufacturer--I haven't seen a single jacket with multiple ports, but anything is possible.

Look at the bottom of the vessel--there should be a "weep hole" somewhere down there, at the lowest point. Make sure no glycol is leaking from that hole--if it is, you're gonna need a good sanitary welder, as you have a leaking jacket.
