Cellarmaker Brewing Company of San Francisco, California is looking to hire one (1) full time assistant brewer. The position will require, but is not limited to: transferring beer, brewhouse operations, tank CIP, keg cleaning and filling and other cellar operations, yeast handling and maintenance.
Applicants should have 1-3 years experience in brewery operations, with a substantial understanding of tank cleaning and sanitation as well as transfer and clarification of finished beer. We are a very small company of eleven employees combined front/back of house and require a high attention to detail as well as a personality that doesn't mind going above and beyond the call of duty (i.e. you may be thrown into bar backing at a moment's notice!). Punctuality and an upbeat disposition are a must. This position requires long term physical endurance and the ability to lift 60 lbs. regularly. Actual brewing experience is not required but desirable and we don't care if you have attended any brewery specific higher education or technical schooling. Please, "Know it Alls" need not apply.
Hiring date is flexible; employment can begin as early as December 10 and as late as January 10. The Bay Area is in the middle of a ferocious elevation of cost of living, so serious applicants should take this into consideration if relocation is required. We suggest having a permanent residence within a reasonable commuting distance before the agreed-upon hire date.
