  • Kettle bottom warping on a 10 barrel direct-fire kettle

I have a less-than six month old 10 barrel, direct fire kettle from a reputable, North American fabricator. Due to a setup that was not my fault, the firebox actually over-heated enough to warp the bottom of the kettle while it was full! I could go into the details on how that happened, but I'm just trying to keep question simple. The root cause is fixed now. When we got the kettle, it had a flat bottom. Now, when it's room temp, it bows upwards in the center about 1/2 inch over a total diameter of six feet. This bow comes out slowly when the kettle is heated with liquid in it.

So, my question / concern is, should I be worried about this affecting the lifespan of our kettle? We paid a lot for it, it's still under warranty, and I am wondering if over time, the stainless will start to fatigue. I don't know if we can afford to replace this kettle after only a few years!

Thanks for any advice and let me know if you need any more info.
    Sean
