  • Nyc area brewery seeking head brewer

    Established NYC area brewery is seeking a head brewer. This is a full-time position as Head Brewer or Brewery Manager covering all facets of the brewing process from grains receiving up to and including bright beer adjustment and packaging operations. We’re looking for a seasoned brewer and manager who can help drive innovation, quality, efficiency while keeping team culture a top priority, and helping to take our brewery to the next level.

    Candidates must meet the following requirements:
    -Minimum 3 years professional brewing experience (Formal brewing education or BS in applicable field is preferred)
    -Minimum 2 years management or team leadership experience preferred
    -Prior experience at production breweries producing >1000bbl/yr preferred
    -Ability to work well in team settings and independently. Collaboration is ESSENTIAL
    -Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills are an ABSOLUTE MUST
    -Maintain paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
    -Proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel functions a plus
    -Perform quality control and quality assurance testing
    -Actively find improvements for the beer and our processes
    -Must be willing to pitch in on tasks outside your key responsibilities
    -Physically fit to operate in production brewing environment
    -Ability to repeatedly lift 55lbs
    -Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
    -Must be able to operate a forklift
    -Solid understanding of the hard sciences underlying the brewing process
    -Understanding and ability to perform basic brewing calculations
