    Door County Brewing Co. one of Wisconsin’s fastest growing breweries is currently looking to hire a second full time brewer. Door County Brewing Co. is located in beautiful Baileys Harbor, WI on the “quite side” of the Door Peninsula. Door County offers a unique lifestyle for those who love the outdoors. Door County has top rated school along with extensive cultural and social opportunities. We are an artisan brewery specializing in Belgian inspired farmhouse ales as well as unique American and European beer styles. We are looking to add the right person to help us grow efficiently while maintaining a positive and fulfilling work environment.

    Summary of Brewer Position
    The new brewer will work side by side with our current Head Brewer in all facets of the brew house and cellar operations including recipe development, wort production, yeast management, packaging, cleaning and maintenance and record keeping.

    Qualifications:
    • 2-5 years of experience working in a brewpub or production brewery
    • Degree in Fermentation Sciences or completion of brewery science program preferred but not required.
    • Effective time management, organization, and communication skills.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Perform wort production of all of our beers.
    • Actively find improvements for our beer and our processes.
    • Assist in recipe development.
    • Monitor quality and temperature of fermenting beers
    • Monitor sugar decreases in fermenters
    • Monitor pressure build up in fermenters
    • Lab work
    • Cleaning and maintenance
    • Preventive maintenance
    • Receive raw materials
    • Perform quality control and assurance testing.
    • Help grow our small barrel program.
    • Represent DCBC at Festivals and events
    • Manage OSHA requirements
    • Cooperage management
    • Willingness to pitch in on duties outside of your key responsibilities.

    Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Understanding fermentation science and other elements of brewing.
    • Ability to modify and maintain most mechanical components of the brewery.
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
    • Ability to work long hours on your feet, 8-10 hours/day.
    • Must be able to lift 55lbs and occasionally move 165 lbs.
    • Must have flexible work hours
