Our Brewing Team at Hardywood is passionate about beer and determined to create a unique experience for our customers through high quality and innovative beer. As a part of the Brewing Team, our new team member will be involved in the entire brewing processes as well as ensuring our beer quality is maintained through final packaging. As our brewing capacity grows, this person will help us achieve and maintain a high level of product quality.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone with a genuine passion for craft beer. Good communication skills are critical. The candidate must have a good understanding of the brewing process in the manufacturing setting. Mechanical aptitude, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills are essential. The candidate should be detail oriented, organized, hardworking, and comfortable working in a team atmosphere. A positive attitude is a must.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Help the brewing team carry out the brewing process from start to finish
Fermentation and Bright Vessel CIP
Beer Transfers
Dry Hopping
CO2 measurement and management
General cleaning and organizing
Assist in packaging and keg filling when needed
Handling and processing raw materials for use in beer production
Shift work including evenings, weekends, and possible 24 hour shifts
Job Requirements
To be eligible for this position you must meet the requirements below:
0.5 - 2 years experience in practical brewing setting
Brewing Degree or trade certification is of benefit, but not necessary for the position
Ability to multi-task and work in an organized fashion
Ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be competent in basic computer applications
Must possess good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities
Ability to lift 55 lb. repeatedly, and move and place 165 lb. kegs
Strong commitment to safety
