    Seattle Cider Company seeks FT Evening Packaging Employee

    Seattle Cider Company, Seattle’s first cidery since prohibition, is seeking a driven, self-motivated, and personable coworker to join our growing team in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

    Job Description

    • Packaging—4-5 days / week—Evening Shift, 2-10pm
    o Evening Shift Lead—canning cider on our semi-automated canning line
    • After a training period of one to two months (training period schedule will be 6am-2pm), candidate will transition to evening canning shifts (2pm-10pm) for the summer.
    • Shift Lead roles include: ensure efficient canning speed, seam measurements, record keeping, troubleshooting, implementation of new SOPs and equipment, directing assistant packager in all aspects of canning including set-up, tear down, and maintenance.
    o Bottling cider periodically
    • Cellar Work—0-1 days/week—2-10pm
    o Racking Kegs
    o Cleaning
    o Organizing

    Applicants should have:

    • Experience in a (production) cidery or brewery, particularly related to packaging
    • Flexible schedule: we will occasionally ask you (sometimes with short notice) to work very early or late.
    o This position will primarily be 2-10pm, with a training period that consists of early mornings.
    • Desire to learn and master packaging machinery
    • General knowledge of fluid dynamics and pressure
    • Mechanical ability and intuition
    • Willingness to work at a fast pace, yet be precise in daily tasks
    • Desire to learn and progress
    • Passion and commitment for excellence

    Physical requirements
    • Ability to stand for a full 8-10 hour shift
    • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 140 pounds.
    • Vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
    • Ability to be frequently exposed to wet condition and work in extreme cold
    • Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals
    • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
    • Ability to work in a moderate noise level

    Compensation

    Hourly, based on experience

    Benefits

    • Paid Time Off accrued hourly, two weeks per year for full time work
    • Free cider based on company policy
    • Up to $150 per year for work boots
    • Healthcare after 90 days (Funded 75% by Seattle Cider / 25% by employee)
    • Paid Sick Leave as mandated by the City of Seattle
    • Matching 401k after 1 year FT employment
