Gilgamesh Brewing
Gilgamesh Brewing is a family owned and operated brewery located in Salem Oregon. Gilgamesh Brewing has been one of the leaders in brewing innovation in the Northwest since it was established in 2009. Gilgamesh drives creativity and originality while maintaining an accessible approach to its products. Gilgamesh aims for the highest standard of quality using some of the most state of the art equipment in the industry.
While Gilgamesh uses locally sourced ingredients, we also strive to be great patrons and partners with our community. Gilgamesh partners with organizations like Boys and Girls club, Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital Foundation and many others. Expected donations will exceed $50,000 in 2016.
Gilgamesh Brewing expects growth to reach 7500 barrels in 2016 with a substantial expansion in its brewing facility. With this growth and expansion comes new and exciting opportunities within our company.
Position Overview
The position of the Sales manager consists of directing the distribution of product to specific distributors, coordinating sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals. It also consists of establishing training programs for sales representatives and analyzing sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential. The Sales Manager is the liaison between distribution sales and the Production Manager.
Sales Manager Duties
• Coaching sales people
o Meet with sales team weekly
o Offer them the coaching, counseling, advice, support, motivation or information they need in order to help them meet their sales objectives.
• Manage sales department
o Make every effort to maximize both present and long term sales and gross profits.
o Keeping face-to-face contact with sales people.
o Manage and maneuver through all channels of distribution.
o Develop and maintain relationships with all distributors and key account personnel.
o Stay current on both brewery inventory and distribution inventory
• Set objectives
o Achieve forecasted sales by following the written plan of action.
o Monitor each salesperson’s weekly performance and compare it with that month’s objective.
o Understand sales financial data to determine the sales profit centers.
o Communicate with Production Manager on monthly objectives and sales expectations weekly.
• Report
o Review and approve quarterly objectives with Gilgamesh Brewing Board of Directors.
o Analyze month to month and year to year data for efficacy of sales strategies.
o Meet weekly with the General Manager to implement brewery growth into the sales growth strategies.
Sales Manager Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years management experience.
• Minimum 5 years sales experience.
• Experience in craft beer trade preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and inventory management software.
• Must have a flexible work schedule and willing to travel when needed.
