Carnival Cruise Lines is looking for a Head Brewer!
Interested in traveling to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, while crafting world-class beer along the way? Carnival Cruise Lines is looking for an experienced, detailed-oriented brewer to take the helm of their brand new on-ship brewery! Some details about the place:
Brand new Albrecht 2 vessel, 3.5 hL brewhouse (pictured below)
Cellar capacity to brew approximately 600 hL/year
-7 double batch FVs, 2 double BBTs
-Targeting 4 cores styles, and rotating specialties
On-ship 100-seat brewpub, with multiple satellite service bars
This is a full-time, salaried position as Head Brewer covering all facets of the brewing process from grain to glass starting March 14, 2016. We’re looking for a seasoned brewer who can drive quality and consistency, providing a well-rounded portfolio of beers in a safe environment. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
-Minimum 2 years professional brewing experience
-(Formal brewing education or BS in applicable field is preferred)
-Ability to work well independently and in team settings
-Physically fit to operate in production brewing environment
-Ability to repeatedly lift 55lbs
-Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
-Solid understanding of the hard sciences underlying the brewing process
-Experience with basic brewing analytical instrumentation
-Experience in brewing lab settings strongly preferred
-Understanding and ability to perform basic brewing calculations
-Proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel functions
