Job description:
Tennessee Brew Works is seeking a Brewer to join our production team. The requisition is for a full-time, salaried position; responsible for brewing activities, recording daily quality assurance logs, and general cleaning and upkeep of the brewery. The candidate must also have a moderate to strong comprehension of brewing and fermentation sciences. Previous professional brewing experience highly recommended.
Responsibilities include:
• Follow brewing protocols to produce consistent wort of highest quality
• Run routine laboratory analysis of yeast, fermenting wort and finished product
• Recording quality assurance logs in a timely manner
• Receiving and tracking inventory of raw materials
• CIP fermentation vessels and packaging equipment
• Setup for brew day
• Help manage barrel-aged program
• Cleaning to keep brewhouse and brewpad in top condition
• Prioritize safety and wear PPE
• Participation in brewery activities and events
Qualifications, Experience & Expectations:
• Higher education in engineering/natural science relatable to brewing or a degree from a professional brewing school
• 2-years of previous experience in a brewery operation is desirable
• Knowledge of quality assurance practices
• Cleanliness and attention to detail
• Flexible work schedule and willingness to occasionally work on nights and weekends
• Ability to work extended hours in unconditioned warehouse environment
• Strict attention and adherence to safety standards
• Team player
