  • Lionstone Assistant Brewer Position

    Lionstone Brewing, located in Geneseo, IL, is looking for a part time assistant brewer. Lionstone Brewing has been in operation since June of 2015. The facility includes a gastropub, a 15bbl steam driven brewhouse and 2bbl steam driven innovation brewhouse. If you are looking for a job position with growth potential this is the place to start. We are currently distributing and will begin canning April 15th with much more on the horizon!

    Qualifications

    1. Assistant must have a flexible work schedule to keep up with the demands of a production brewing environment.
    2. Ability to commit 25-30 hours a week to Lionstone Brewing.
    3. Candidate must have a basic understanding of the brewing process and recipe formulation.
    4. Ability to lift 55 pounds and to move 250 pounds.
    5. Ability to anticipate needs during brew days and internalize information without having to be reminded.
    6. Ability to make simple mental math computations such as percentages, ratios, and dosage rates.
    7. Ability to problem solve and take initiative when unforeseeable tasks present themselves.
    8. Salary TBD based upon experience.
    9. Yeast management and cell count experience preferable.

    Duties

    10. Assist with the moving and manipulation of the product/equipment at various production stages.
    11. Assist in maintaining a clean, neat, and safe work area.
    12. Set up hoses, fittings, and clamps as required for production and cleaning operations.
    13. Assist with the performance of production operations, CIP’s, and sanitation practices with strict adherence to SOP’s set forth in training.
    14. Perform basic maintenance task on pumps, valves, tanks and process equipment.
    15. Assist in feeding, maintaining and harvesting yeast strains.
    16. Embrace a process of and opportunities for continual improvement.
    17. Have a passion for acquiring brewing knowledge outside the workday.
    18. Self-provided mandatory work equipment: Steel toed waterproof boots and duck cotton jeans.
