Blue Corn Brewery is a brewpub located in Santa Fe, NM currently in it's 19th year of operation. We are looking for a highly qualified individual with the potential to grow our brewery. Needs to be a motivated, passionate, and energetic person to fill the position of Head Brewer. This is a full-time (40+ hours/wk) position with varied hours throughout the week and the potential for some evening and weekend hours. Pay will be based on experience. Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
* 3 years experience in the brewing industry, in either a production or brewpub setting.
* Ability to work and communicate with staff, customers and outside parties.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and basic computer functions.
* Organized and detail oriented.
* Ability to problem solve.
* Degree in Fermentation Science or completion of brewing-science program preferred, but not mandatory.
* Lift 55lbs repeatedly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform wort production of 10+ styles of beer including 6 year-round styles to proper specification including but not limited to grist-preparation, mashing and graining out.
* Strong working knowledge of CIP and Sanitation practices.
* Proficiency in DE filtration.
* Knowledge of packaging (Keg Only) practices.
* Perform quality control and quality assurance testing.
* Actively find improvements for the beer and our processes.
* Adhere to safe practices, specifically concerning alkaline and acidic chemicals.
* Must be willing to pitch in on tasks outside your key responsibilities, which may include draft troubleshooting.
* New recipe formulation.
* Manage assistant brewer and train as necessary.
* Inventory, assessment, and purchasing of raw materials.
