Brouwerij 't IJ in Amsterdam (NL) is looking for a head brewer, to strengthen and lead the existing brewing team.
Since 1985, Brouwerij ‘t IJ brews unpasteurized and unfiltered top-fermented beers in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The different beers from ‘t IJ are available nationwide and are packed in bottles or kegs. In 2013 ‘t IJ opened a second brewery close to the original brewery. Last year Brouwerij ‘t IJ brewed 20.000HL beer in various styles and flavors.
Today, the total brewing, packaging and laboratory team of ‘t IJ consists of about 16 employees working at the two locations. In 2016 ‘t IJ is building a new laboratory to further control the quality of the beer. Furthermore, it is looking for a place in Amsterdam to establish a new brewery. This brewery should grow significantly in the coming years to meet the high demand for the IJ-beers.
The head brewer is expected to:
lead the brewing and packaging teams at both locations as well as the laboratory.
keep an overview of the brewery and come up with solutions when problems arise.
keep the current recipes in tact and improve / update if necessary.
be creative regarding recipes of one-off beers and collaborations.
participate on technical brewing matters relating to the construction of a new brewery, as well as controlling investments in the current breweries.
