Job Title: Head Brewer
Reports To: Director of Operations, Sales, & Marketing; Plant Manager

JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for brewery operations encompassing all aspects of the production process including beer recipe creation, brewing, safety, quality control, productivity, and managing related materials.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates beer recipes
- Oversees the brewing, fermentation, and filtration process
- Selects and orders required ingredients
- Develops brew plan and schedule
- Assigns specific brewing functions to brewers
- Maintains a monthly inventory of materials
- Oversees the cleaning of equipment used in the packaging process
- Oversees the preventative maintenance program for brewing area
- Mentors and coaches brewer and assistant brewer
- Oversees the brew house cleaning procedures
- Loads bottle washing machine for production
- Attends weekly management and brewer's meetings
- Represents the brewery at events
- Ensures compliance to Health & Safety policies
- Works with Plant Manager and Director of Operations to coordinate production runs
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Certified brew master or apprenticeship
Experience: Over 5 years of brewing experience; staff management experience
Specialized training: First aid training
Certificates and Licenses: Certified brewer
Equipment: Filter brew hoses, pumps, tanks, fork lift
