New San Diego Craft Brewery Seeking Experienced Head Brewer
Looking for experienced Head Brewer in San Diego, CA
We are a start up craft brewery, in San Diego, CA (the Mecca of craft brewing), looking for an experienced brewer, available immediately, to join our team of passionate beer lovers.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with at least two years production brewery experience to help us create new quality recipes and construct exciting seasonal brews. You will be the chef to our kitchen, the artist to our gallery. You will give us a voice. You will help manage, design and maintain our brewery and put forth a high quality product that meets and exceeds the expectations of craft beer drinkers. You will be in charge of many aspects of production. You will run our 15 BBL system like the well oiled machine it is.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
Responsible for the production of our beers and will complete all facets of the brewing process including brew house operations, cellar, filtration, finishing, and building a barrel aging program in the brewery (e.g. Oversee all brewing and packaging operations, Recipe development, Operations Management, Inventory Management). Brewer is NOT required to manage TTB and State filings.
Job Requirements:
- 2 or more years brewing in a production facility (15BBL or greater)
- A degree from a professional brewing education program preferred
- Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours and lift 65 lbs on a consistent basis
- Attention to detail and dedication to high quality brewing process and ingredients
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Passion for the craft
Team player
- Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively
Benefits/Compensation:
- Compensation is commensurate to experience and education
- Paid company holidays, five float holidays and two weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Eligible for profit sharing and sweat equity after one year
