Tombstone Brewing Company is scheduled to open later this year in historic Tombstone, Arizona. We are now seeking applications for head brewer. The ideal candidate will have an intense passion for beer, a commitment to the highest quality standards, and substantial experience brewing a wide range of beer styles on a commercial scale.
Candidates will need to be able to:
-Maintain a clean, orderly facility
-Handle raw materials
-Assist with the planning and installation of a 15bbl steam brewhouse
-Operate said brewhouse, fermenters, and bright tanks
-Clean, sanitize, and sterilize as needed
-Manage yeast health
-Rack, filter, and keg beer
-Clean and maintain a draft system
-Operate a canning line
-Keep detailed records
-Do all the typical physical stuff you'd expect for a brewer (see every other brewer job listing ever)
Requirements:
-Five years of commercial brewing experience
-Strong industry references
-Thorough brewing and cellaring knowledge
-Extensive knowledge of beer styles
-Substantial recipe development experience
Strong preference given to candidates with the following:
-A diploma or certificate in brewing or fermentation science
-Specific experience with wild, sour, and/or barrel-aged beers
-Specific experience brewing and serving CAMRA-style real ales
-BJCP or Cicerone credentials
This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary depends on experience, and for the right candidate, future ownership interest may be possible as well.
