  • Corny Keg Converted to Sanke?

    Any thoughts on these?

I saw them in a listing in the classified section and the low cost makes me want to, but I feel like there must be a reason they're so cheap.

We used to have a bunch of them before changing to pay per fill. Never had any issues with them. Breckenridge used to have thousands of them. Only possible negative I can imagine is they are slightly taller than a sanke, so if a bar has a really small direct draw tap system it might be a tight fit, but we never heard that complaint from accounts.

Yes, the main difference is the height. We have some but have been phasing them out because they can cause problems with customers who have tiny draft coolers. Otherwise they are fine.

        no problems

We bought about 200 of them over 7 years ago and haven't had any problems - ours were purchased used from a place in Wisconsin. They are taller than regular 1/6bbl kegs and sometimes that can be a problem, but not often.
