    Assistant Brewer Position at Established Downtown Indianapolis Brewpub - Ram Restaurant and Brewery

    Job Summary:
    A proactive member of the RAM Brewery team, assuring the quality and integrity of the Brewery and its brands. This position is fulltime. Local candidates with immediate availabilty preferred.

    Brewer Candidate Requirements & Responsibilities:
    * Able to conduct clear and effective communication with Team Members, Leadership, Supervisors and Guests.
    * Applicant should be a Self-Starter, Self-Motivator, and a Self-Auditor.
    * Must be organized in thought and action.
    * Ability to work 50 + hrs a week, work as needed, including occasional weekend duties.
    * Ability and willingness to represent the brand at local brew fests.
    * Be an active participant in growing the brand inside and outside the RAM’s walls.
    * Ability to repetitively lift and carry 55 lb malt bags by oneself and 165 lb kegs with assistance.
    * Possess theoretical & practical experience with recipe design and production, as well as the ability to meticulously follow a recipe.
    * Work with prescribed cleaning chemicals, based upon established protocol, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
    * Maintain sanitary standards for the microbial integrity of the products.
    * Maintain the operational and aesthetic condition of the facility.
    * Operate brewing, cellar, filtration, and sanitation systems according to good manufacturing practice.
    * Maintain established quality parameters within the raw material handling, brewing, cellar, and filtration operations.
    * Record and verify all required data, within the brewery from brew house to bright beer tank operations.
    * Maintain finished product, raw material and process material inventories and controls.
    * Participate in sensory analysis.
    * Actively participate in staff and leadership team meetings.
    * Monitor mechanical and operational integrity, and perform routine maintenance of brewing equipment.
    * Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

    Job Qualifications:
    * Education: Bachelor's degree or 2-year technical college degree, preferred. Completion of a recognized brewing certification program preferred.
    * Skills in basic word processing, spread sheets, statistical, and production software.

    Compensation:
    * Based on level of experience.
    * Eligible for vacation time and health insurance program through the RAM after one year of employment.
    * The RAM is proudly Team Member Owned through an Employee Stock Option Program.
