Part Time Assistant Brewer Wanted in Chicago

We’re looking for a Part Time Assistant Brewer to join our team. We are a microbrewery in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. We specialize in lagers and package our beers in cans and kegs.

Responsibilities

All functions related to brewing, including (but not limited to) wort production, cellar-work, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and packaging of beer
Quality assurance throughout the entire brewing process
Representing the brewery at various festivals and promotional events from time to time
Yeast management
Cleaning, organizing and more cleaning
Following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment at all times

Requirements

Ability to work with a team, including good verbal and written communication
Ability to: repeatedly lift heavy objects safely, including 55lb sack of malt, >100lb kegs, and working safely with chemicals, pumps, hot water, and high pressure
Flexibility with work hours and availability
Hard working, self motivated, and positive

Brewing education, equivalent brewery experience, or the Comprehension of the fundamentals of Brewing Science is desired

Part time or as needed, flexible hours.
