  • Looking for Brewer/Cellar Person at Standard Brewing

    Standard Brewing is looking to hire a brewer/cellar person for our growing operation in Seattle’s Central District. The role we are looking to fill is a broad one which requires a good multi-tasker with excellent attention to detail. This person will be tasked with a variety of roles, from brewing operations to cleaning and maintaining of fermenters and serving tanks, occasional bottling runs, as well as cleaning and filling kegs. We are a small operation and good communication skills are imperative. An ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of professional brewing and/or cellar experience, and a fundamentally sound understanding of all brewery processes. Salary will depend on experience.

    A bit about Standard Brewing:
    Starting on a 1 bbl system in 900 square feet, we’ve grown quickly to a 7 bbl brewhouse with 7 fermenters, 1 brite tank, and 6 serving tanks. This arrangement allows a dynamic brewing environment, which keeps things exciting from the brewer’s perspective. We’ve built up a strong neighborhood following and do most of our business on our recently expanded patio, with excess product going out to a few dozen wholesale accounts. By the end of summer, we will have a new bar space in an empty room adjacent the brewhouse. We are also expanding into the space above the brewery to house 30 barrels for brettanomyces/wild/sour/spirit beers, and plan regular bottle releases.
