Staff Accountant – Olympia, WA
Fish Brewing Company, producers of high quality hand crafted beers and ciders, is seeking a unique individual with experience and knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, database design and operations, Microsoft Excel, and Crystal Report Designs. The Staff Accountant reports to management and is responsible for management and oversight of all accounting personnel and the final preparation of general ledger entries, inventory management, fixed asset management and preparation and distribution of periodic financial statements and sales reports.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Specific duties include:
• Reconciling and entry of sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Preparing financial statements for review by management
• Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
• Reconciling Bank Accounts
• Assist in audits
• Preparing management and sales reports
• Assist with local, state, federal tax preparation
• Assist with state and federal compliance reporting and issues.
• Assist with AR, AP, payroll as needed including special projects
• Create customized reports in Orchestrated Beer using Crystal Reports
• Any and all additional duties as assigned by management
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, preferably Accounting.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of Orchestrated Beer, a specialized SAP beer accounting program, is preferred.
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports is a must.
• Three years of accounting experience in the Craft Beer business is a must or at least five years of accounting experience in private business with preference in manufacturing and cost accounting.
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite programs especially Excel and accounting systems, preferably SAP.
• Ability to develop and manage productive relationships with staff and peers locally and remotely.
