Short Fuse Brewing Company is looking for a manager of our Tasting Room. We are a brand new brewery located few blocks from Rosemont Convention Center in Schiller Park, Illinois just five minutes from O’Hare and within walking distances from the Blue-line. We are a production brewery but we feel that the tasting room is the front line and a key part of our business to introduce our concept, perspective and of course beer to the craft beer enthusiast and the novice alike.
The taproom manager will be responsible for all aspects of the taproom operations and kitchen.
Day to day activities may include
▪ Bartending
▪ Ensuring all of our customers have the best possible experience in the tap room
▪ Managing and scheduling other bartenders
▪ Ordering kitchen and bar supplies
▪ Hiring and firing employees
▪ Making weekly schedule and staffing needs
▪ Opening up and closing out many days of the week
▪ Managing the profitability of the tap room
▪ Planning and executing events in the tap room – often working with other groups to do so
▪ Working with the founders to properly market the tap room
▪ All other day to day activities necessary to keep the tap room running.
The taproom manager will report to the founders of Short Fuse Brewing.
Skills required:
▪ Excellent personal communication skills
▪ Attention to detail
▪ Demonstrated leadership
▪ A basic familiarity in using the web and other technology
▪ Have an energetic and welcoming personality
▪ Be enthusiastic about craft beer
▪ Previous bar management skills a plus.
The right person will be in at the ground level of a new start up brewery, and will join the team several months before our assumed opening in February of 2017. We’re all wearing multiple hats, and you will too. We’re looking for a team player, and one who is excited about the challenge of helping to build a successful business. We’re looking for someone who is interested in playing a role in the overall business long term.
Compensation will be based on experience.
