    KettleHouse Brewing Company is an award winning brewery located in beautiful Missoula, Montana. KettleHouse opened in 1995 and has become a Missoula icon with two locations and a third larger scale production facility opening in the fall of 2016. Currently producing over 15,000 barrels per year, the addition of our new state-of-the-art production and packaging facility will allow for rapid growth and regional distribution in the coming years. This facility features a 60 barrel automated JVNW brew house as well as a Krones canning line to service our increasing distribution footprint. We are a forward-thinking, progressive brewery looking for a Head Brewer who is a dynamic leader interested in having a positive impact on Montana’s craft beer culture.

    Overall position description:
    The Head Brewer position is responsible for the successful and efficient production and packaging of KettleHouse Brewing’s world class craft beer at three locations. The Head Brewer’s primary function will be oversight of the new production facility which will brew for wholesale distribution. Additionally, this position will support the existing two breweries in producing beer for our taproom locations.

    This is a full time, salaried position with a benefit package including health, vision, and dental insurance, Simple IRA, short and long term disability, paid holidays, and paid time off. Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:
    • Expert level experience in brewing and packaging beer in a craft packaging brewery
    • Excellent management and people skills
    • Knowledge of QC and QA in a commercial brewery
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal
    • Knowledge of brewing ingredient selection
    • Product and recipe development

    Education Requirements:
    The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in biology, physics, or general science, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience that includes brewing beer, cellaring, packaging, and managing employees.
    About Missoula, MT:
    Home to Montana’s top three craft breweries, Missoula offers a wealth of recreational opportunities. Its location in a river valley surrounded by mountains on all sides as well as its history has had a great influence on the development of the city's parks and recreation activities. Today the city boasts over 400 acres of parkland, 22 miles of trails, and nearly 5000 acres of open-space conservation land. Nestled in the confluence of the Clark Fork, Bitterroot, and Blackfoot Rivers, the area is also popular for white water rafting, kayaking and fly fishing. Additionally, Missoula has two aquatic parks, multiple golf courses, is home to the Adventure Cycling Association, and hosts what Runner's World called the "best overall" marathon in the nation. There are also three ski areas within 100 miles: Montana Snowbowl, Discovery Ski Area, and Lost Trail Powder Mountain. Slightly farther away are Lookout Pass, Blacktail Mountain, and Big Mountain.
