    JOB TITLE: FOH Shift Lead
    LOCATION: Eccentric Café, Kalamazoo, MI
    REPORTS TO: Assistant FOH Manager
    FLSA POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt
    EXTERNAL POSTING DATES: 07/01/2016-07/24/2016

    POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee and manage all aspects of front of house operations with regard to Bell’s Eccentric Café. Assist in managing pub employees by being the Person In Charge (PIC).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •Adheres to and advances the “Safety Always” culture of Bell’s Brewery.
    •Maintains standards of service, food and safety.
    •Monitors and motivates all restaurant employees to keep staff on task.
    •Conducts pre-shift meetings to provide direction, discuss daily features, seasonal drafts and, 86’d items.
    •Ensures proper Open/Close and shift change duties are performed.
    •Assists in staff training.
    •Leads all day-to-day restaurant activities during shift.
    •Leads and motivates team to accomplish additional tasks.
    •Upholds all policies and procedures according to handbook.
    •Promotes an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within the restaurant and the company.
    •Checks in with tables and gathers guest feedback.
    •Assists in any area of the restaurant, when necessary.
    •Answers the telephone and passes callers to the proper authority.
    •Ensures the responsible service of alcohol to customers while adhering to TIPS training guidelines.
    •Records shift and staffing notes in manager log.
    •Cuts off individuals & communicates to proper channels.
    •Beer knowledge: Can accurately describe all beers on tap & bottles in cooler, can compare & contrast beers & styles, knows proper glass ware, tiers & price points.
    •Full knowledge of all employee discounts, policies, procedures for events, sales reps & guests of the company.
    •Must have a flexible schedule, nights and weekends are required

    Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

    MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •Supervise, guide and assist servers, hosts, dining room assistants, and bartenders.

    •Twenty faucet draught System
    •Phone system
    •Computers (primarily Excel and Word)
    •Savin all-in-one copier, printer, fax, scan
    •Retail POS system
    •Aloha POS system

    •Ability to resolve customer complaints about food or service
    •Money-handling skills

    •Prior bar or restaurant experience

    •POS system experience (Aloha, etc)
    •Tips/Tam certified
    •Quick thinker & problem solver
    •Leadership skills
    •Multi-tasker

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
    •Prior restaurant and bar experience

    •Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    •Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
