    State Brewing Company, located in Gardena, California, is seeking a full-time Sales Manager to join its small but growing team. Established in 2015 in an industrial unit, State Brewing is rapidly becoming known for its range of balanced and approachable ales and lager.
    State’s brewery features a 10 bbl brewhouse and is currently on track to produce 1,000 bbl in its first 12 months with expansion already underway and projection to increase to 4,000 bbl next year. Production is currently exclusively draught but will include cans in the coming months. This fast-growing company is the first brewery to open in Gardena and is rapidly gaining market share in the South Bay and greater Los Angeles County.

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Our sales manager will enter into a unique opportunity to build and grow an entire department for State Brewing. To this end, we are looking for a particular kind of driven, eager dynamo to continue the momentum of our rollout and also to begin laying the brickwork for future hires, SOP, systems and incentives.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Be the State ambassador in all marketplaces, having a firm understanding of, and be able to explain in detail, the company’s history, community involvement, beer portfolio and short- and long-term vision.
    • Explain the long-term growth and profit potential of the craft beer industry, specifically State.
    • Disseminate information to accounts about upcoming beer launches, seasonal releases, brewery initiatives, Point-of-Sale, etc.
    • Manage time and priorities in an effective and efficient manner.
    • Maintain a weekly/bi-weekly planner of goals and distributor/account calls.
    • Be familiar with draft system dynamics and have the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
    • Be fluent and current in California’s liquor license codes and regulations.
    • Act as the key conduit of information back to the CEO and other department heads, including, but not limited to, distributor market price lists and post-off schedules, competitor pricing and materials, and opportunities to build the business.
    • Represent State Brewing Company in the retail trade as the first point of contact for the brewery.
    • Establish regular contact and build relationships with key decision makers at key accounts, both on and off premise, in order to gain sales and distribution.
    REQUIREMENTS
    • Three years’ experience in a sales position, preferably in a management role
    • A strong passion for the past, present and future craft beer scene nationally, in LA and the South Bay
    • An understanding of the brewing process and beer styles
    • Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills
    • Flexibility in terms of hours and a willingness to work nights, weekends and overtime
    • Computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Office/spreadsheet programs
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Current CA driver’s license and clean driving record
    • Cicerone beer server or above preferred
