Shift Brewer
Reports to: Director of Brewing
Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, one of California's fastest growing regional craft breweries, is looking for a Shift Brewer. We are in the midst of an expansion in our San Francisco facility and have purchased state-of-the-art production equipment that will allow us to continue our growth. To do so, we are looking to add talent with a passion for craft beer and devotion to quality.
Production employees at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers take part in all aspects of fermentation, dry hopping, yeast-wrangling, tank cleaning/sanitizing, filtration, and carbonation, as well as brewery cleaning and upkeep.
Primary duties and responsibilities
Schedule
Four rotating shifts, 6-week cycle between rotations. (5) full 8-hour workdays per week, Graveyard shift rotation is (4) full 10-hour workdays per week, paying overtime after 8 hours each day and allowing for a 3-day weekend… more money, long weekend!
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills and qualifications:
This is not an entry-level position. 3+ years experience is preferred, but candidates must have a minimum of one-year professional experience working in wort production, filtration, or cellar work of a brewery or winery. Must possess strong understanding of fermentation and CIP practices. Previous production shift brewing preferred.

- Minimum of one year cellar or brewing experience
- Fanatical cleanliness with strong attention to detail
- Highly accountable, able to self manage
- Ability to follow stringent sanitary practices
- Ability to frequently and repeatedly lift 55 lbs., and capable of moving 150 lbs.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed.
