Southern Prohibition Brewing is a regional brewery, located in Hattiesburg, MS. We are well into our third year of production and experiencing rapid growth. With growth comes new jobs and opportunities. We pride ourselves on our quality product and ever changing choices for our dedicated consumers.
We are looking to expand our brewing team with an experienced brewer, who can help lead our production through these next phase of growth. The right brewer for us will be extremely detail oriented, creative in their critical thinking processes, and hold a deep passion and understanding of all aspects of the brewing process (scheduling, ingredients, brewing, cellaring, packaging), a positive attitude, and patience as we learn and grow together with this industry.
Requirements:
Education and Experience: 1+ years of experience in a production brewery and/or formal brewing education is preferred. Comfortable with general yeast lab and QC procedures. Experience with barrel aging, as well as bacterial cultures is a plus.
Physical: Comfortable lifting and maneuvering malt, kegs, and oak and wine barrels (55+ pounds repeatedly). Proper handling of hazardous materials, and operation of machinery.
Working hours: Flexible schedule with knowledge that your job is demanding of your time and energy. Occasional evening shifts. May require occasional travel to festivals, trade shows, conventions, etc.
Opportunity:
Brewing: We are anxious to grow and continue our barrel aging program and take off with our budding sour/brett program. We brew 5 core brands, as well as several seasonals and one offs throughout the year. Hard work and perfection of our current recipes can lead to creative endeavors into recipes of your own.
Compensation: Competitive compensation - with additional consideration for relocation, and performance based bonuses. Health care plans available. We are looking for driven individuals who want to take ownership and have a vested interest in our growth— employee stock purchase program will be online by 2018.
