Wood Ridge Farm Brewery, a new and truly unique brewery that recently opened it’s doors, located in central Virginia, is looking to expand our team to include head brewer. We are looking for someone who can think outside the box and create unique beers with ingredients we can grow on the farm as well as adding to our signature flagship beers with the expansion from 6 taps to 12 taps. Must be able to communicate and work closely with the owner of the brewery and farm, and share the vision of our motto: From the Dirt To The Glass. The owner is ready to begin the next phase of the project, building a commercial kitchen, building a barrel house for barrel aging and sours production, and farming. The opportunity for a partnership will be considered.
Responsibilities would include:
Managing the brewery
Ordering supplies, scheduling,
Maintaining signature beers
Creating specialty beers
Working closely with the maltster
Brewery equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintaining records
Inventory
Keeping the brewery clean and sanitary
Ability to interact well with customers and promote the brewery
Communicating with owner and managers
Wood Ridge Farm Brewery is a true, all inclusive , sustainable farm brewery. Located on a 300 acre working family farm, we grow and malt (at our on-site malting facility) all our barley, wheat and rye. We use our own spring water, are planting our hops yard now and even have wild yeast strains derived from the farm for special brews. In our next phase, the commercial kitchen, we will honor the “Farm to Table” idea utilizing all aspects of the farm, ie: grown vegetables (in the field and greenhouses over the winter) , our beef and pork, and our grains milled into flours. Aqua-culture is also an available option.
