Toit Brewpub, one of India's oldest and leading craft breweries, is looking for a lead brewer to join our brewing team as we look to open our new production brewery in Pune as well as for future expansion plans. The new brewery is ready and is likely to be operational in a couple of months. The brewer will work along with our Head Brewer, Matthew Callahan, across our locations in Bangalore and Pune, and possible future locations.
Qualifications
• 3 or more years experience working in craft breweries as a lead brewer
• Must have experience with packaging
• Academic qualification in brewing is preferred
Essential Skills
• Passion for world class beer and should know the basics of chemistry and science behind brewing, how to perform basic lab tests, basic digital read-outs, proper production calculations and record-keeping and sanitation requirements
• In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical aspects of brewing equipment
• Capacity to teach and train other staff in the brewing process
Personal Considerations
• Open-minded and willing to explore and experiment with various types of beer that will work in the local market. Brewing more than just IPAs!
• Excellent English language communication skills
• Committed to live and work in India for a minimum one year
• Must possess a temperament suited to working in a country like India, which comes with its challenges and frustrations
