I have been offered two 600 gallon horizontal dairy tanks that I am considering converting into a Kettle and a Mash Tun. I have also been offered a 1,000 gallon tank and 420 gallon tank.
The mash tun is relatively simple, but for the kettle I am thinking about using direct fire.
My question is, can I cut off the outer jacket, remove the insulation and cooling piping, and use it as a direct fire system with no problem?
