We are looking for a head brewer who shares a passion in both old and new school styles and who will embrace growing a relatively new brewery. We brew on a 3 vessel, 15 hL system which is capable of multiple brews per day. We naturally carbonate our beer and do not use a filter.
Working at Red Collar will not only provide the opportunity to brew interesting beers and to build a brand, but also to gain experience working with the microbiology department at Thompson Rivers University and to collaborate with Owner/Brewmaster David Beardsell.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The head brewer will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the brewing process. Beyond brewing beer this will include procurement of raw materials, recipe formulation, maintenance and packaging. The Head Brewer will oversee all brewery operations and will work collaboratively with the Brewmaster.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of two years commercial brewing experience
Mechanical and forklift experience
Brewing experience without the use of a filter and/or centrifuge
Recipe formulation
Strong team player who works well with others
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Brewing science or microbiology degree
Yeast propagation and laboratory operations
We will offer competitive compensation to the successful candidate, as well as partial benefits. Please send resume and cover letter to info@redcollar.ca with “Head Brewer Candidate” in the subject line.
