  • 400 x 400 Plate in frame or 600 x 600?

    Hi,

I'm about to order a plate in frame for our new plant. I've been doing some reading and I'm pretty comfortable with the Della Toffola plate in frames. We likely won't filter IPAS or Pales but will for blondes/lagers.

    It's down to the

    1) 400 x 400 (a6) that holds 44-60 plates, manual closure
    2) 400 x 400 (a8) that holds 64-80 plates, manual closure
    3) 600 x 600 (a60) that holds 44-60 plates, hydraulic closure

Our biggest tank is 120 bbl but we also have 60 bbl tanks. Since we won't be filtering every day I'm leaning towards option 2 which in theory would let us filter 120 bbl in 4-6 hours. Option 3 doubles in cost basically and is probably too much filter for our needs.

Anybody have input on this? Much obliged, as always.
