Crystal Lake Brewing is looking for a Head Brewer to join our brewing team. We are a production brewery located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. This is a great opportunity for a brewer looking to move into a fast growing brewery with a focus on creating world class beers. This position will be a split/second shift position. It will require the ability to run not only the brewhouse, but also the canning and kegging lines. Weekend availability is a must. The right candidate will have an out going personality, and AT LEAST THREE YEARS of professional brewing experience preferably in a production brewery. Those with no experience need not apply.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Recipe formulation
- Adhere to set recipes
- Competent CIP practices
- Raw material ordering/handling
- Yeast management
- Inventory
- Work occasional weekends
- Work 2-3 nights per week
- Repeatedly lift 55#'s
- Ability to operate brewhouse
- Knowledge of Wild Goose canning line beneficial, but not required
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Strong mechanical background
- Able to show up on time
- Day to day brewing operations
