Port Orleans Brewing Company is looking to fill Brewer and Assistant Brewer positions. We are a new production brewery in Uptown New Orleans that will focus on tasty lagers and session-able ales to quench the thirst of the good people of New Orleans.
We are looking to fill production positions that are appropriate for both entry level and more experienced candidates. As with any brewery employment successful applicants will possess:
- Positive outlook and attitude.
- Creative and effective problem solving.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work unsupervised while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
- Self-motivated with good time management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with other employees.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff throughout the company.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Ability to walk, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to work in a wet, hot environment around potentially dangerous materials and machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
- Experience or certification with forklift is a plus.
- Experience at a brewery is a plus.
- Formal brewing education is a plus.
This is a start-up brewery, so duties will include anything and everything related to beer production. All production employees will likely rotate through every area within the brewery, including but not limited to: shipping and receiving, milling and grain handling, wort production, fermentation management and yeast wrangling, finished beer and packaging, maintenance, and public relations.
Competitive benefits package dependent upon experience, but will include paid vacation, health insurance, 401k.
