Jack’s Abby is looking for a qualified individual to take over management of the packaging side of our brewing operation. Jack’s Abby operates in a new 130k sq ft facility with a canning line, bottling line and keg racker. The brewery packaged 19k BBLs in 2015, will brew 35k in 2016 and will have 50k of capacity for 2017. The packaging manager will be an integral member of a brewery management team and work side by side with the cellar, brewhouse, lab, quality control and distribution teams. This is a full time position between 40-50 hours a week, with access to 401k, health and dental benefits after one month of employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Overseeing a packaging staff of 8+ people, including personnel scheduling based on a production schedule
Maintaining, reporting, and accounting for the inventory of packaging materials
Recording and reporting various QA/QC and packaging data
Managing adherence to company saftey standards and practices such as GMP, OSHA, and HAACP
Working/Overseeing 5-10 packaging shifts a week
Performing routing maintenance on packaging equipment in collaboration with the Brewery Manager
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
3-5 years experience in a high volume production environment required
Experience with double-seamed cans and canning equipment highly desirable
Top-notch mechanical skills and problem-solving capabilities
Familiarity with and general proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs, experience with Orchestrated Beer software a plus
Strong leadership skills and management experience
Knowledge of and interest in the craft beer industry
Organizational skills and ability to make long range plans and goals
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees and the general public
Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multi task, the ability to think on your feet and adapt
Strict attention to detail
Ability to lift 50 pounds and move 150 pounds regularly
Ability to work near moving parts and machinery
