POSITION DESCRIPTION: Production (Racking/Canning/Bottling)/Delivery Driver

POSITION SUMMARY
Hopworks Urban Brewery in Portland, OR is looking for an excited beer enthusiast to join our brewery team in the dual role of Production/Delivery Driver position. This position performs all tasks involved in the packaging of beer and cider products, including machine inspection, operation, maintenance and cleaning. As a Delivery Driver you will be responsible for the daily delivery of kegs, pizza dough, food items, POS material, and miscellaneous administrative needs from HUB (Powell) to our other locations (Bike Bar and Vancouver). The average work day will amount to 50% of the time performing Production tasks and 50% of the time performing Delivery Driver tasks. Candidate must be enthusiastic about the brewing industry and must have a passion for great beer and sustainability. This position reports to the Production Manager in the brewery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely set-up and operate packaging equipment to SOPs as directed.
Troubleshoot machinery during operation and make necessary adjustments to equipment. Report any major malfunctions to the immediate supervisor.
Verify daily packaging schedule prior to start-up.
Clean machines at the end of packaging run.
Cross-train on all packaging equipment (including racking machine).Assist coworkers in performing their duties.
Attend and participate in team meetings.
Sort and salvage all usable raw materials and disposable packaging.
Pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes.
Check in with Brew staff and obtain needed kegs from the nightly order for the delivery.
Fulfill any food, POS material, or administrative requests for the relevant pub.
Transfer POS items (cloths, mugs, glassware), and relevant administrative paperwork to the relevant pub.
Return all packing slips and invoices to HUB Powell location.
General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the delivery vehicles used.
Openly communicate ideas and suggestions for improvements.
Receive and rotate perishable beverage products using FIFO (First In, First Out).
Perform any additional assignments as required by supervisor.
Execute safe work operations, safety policies and procedures
Able to drive a forklift.
Must have active and extensive beer knowledge.
Interact with customers and co-workers in a positive manner.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Forklift Certification (can be obtained upon hiring)
Valid Driver License (with a clean driving record)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Constant standing, walking, pushing, pulling, reaching; high exposure to varied temperature changes; exposed to wet floors, cleaning and sanitizing agents, steam, hot items, sharp objects; some stress.
Regularly lift/carry 30-40 lbs.
Occasionally lift 100-165 lbs.
Regularly walk, climb, balance, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
Must be comfortable with moderate heights.
