  • hop hash

Anyone out there care to share their experience with hop hash? Looking to try it out, and from what i an tell its best to use as a whirlpool or dryhop addition, but i am hearing conflicting ideas about the high oil content and perhaps using a tincture to dissolve the oils before dry hopping.
    im looking primarily for aroma.
    cheers

Maybe I'm not perfectly clear on what you mean by hop hash, do you mean hop extract?

I've just started using a few of these alternative products and so far this is what I understand they are best suited for:

    Hop Extract: Early addition boil
Lupulin Powder: Could be used as whirlpool but I think mainly for dryhopping.

That's my take, if anyyone has more info or suggestions I'm all open.

I think it is slightly different from lupulin powder, but I could be wrong. My understanding is lupulin powder is milled differently, using a method that leaves most of the vegetal matter behind and using less heat/friction. Hop hash, from what I gathered, is the "leftovers" from standard pelletizing. It's the goodies they get after cleaning the mill, it comes in a brick.
