Job Title: Brewer

Job Description: We are in search of a self-motivated, team oriented, hard working individual who is looking to progress and grow in their career as a professional brewer. Here at Grayton Beer Company, we strive to invest in our passion and our people. We are looking for candidates who are motivated to do the same.
This position is full time and compensation is commensurate with experience. The candidate must be flexible and able to work nights and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
o 1-year experience in a production brewery
o Ability to follow SOPs and other documentation to produce a consistent, high quality product
o Ability to work independently
o Ability to think critically and react swiftly and appropriately to changing conditions
o Ability to work safely with chemicals and other workplace hazards according to safety protocols
o Ability to work well in a team and encourage positive morale
o Ability to lift 55lb bags
o Ability to operate fork lift
Desired Qualifications
o Formal brewing education
o Mechanical background, ability to maintain and make small repairs to equipment
Responsibilities:
o Raw Materials Prep (milling, hop scaling, etc…)
o Wort Production (full brewhouse operation)
o Forklift operation
o Brewing Log Record Keeping
o Cellar Duties
♣ Yeast Harvesting/ management
♣ 12 & 24 hour cell counts
♣ Daily gravities & pH
♣ Beer transfers
♣ Yeast to waste
♣ Temp/ pressure monitoring
♣ Fermentation/ cellar record keeping
♣ Support for Quality Control Department (cell counts, sterile sampling, Forced Diacetyl test)
o CIP, cleaning, and PM of equipment and work areas
o Process and recipe improvement/ adjustment
o R&D recipe formulation and brewing
o Packaging responsibilities as needed (loading boxes, packing cases, case box erection, keg cleaning, etc...)
