  • Eddyline Brewery - Head Brewer/Director Of Operations

    Located at 8000 feet in the small mountain town of Buena Vista, Colorado, Eddyline Brewery is looking for a Head Breewry/Director of Operations to help facilitate day to day and strategic operations. We have experienced tremendous growth over the last 2 years, expanding production from 2500 to nearly 5000 bbls in 2015 and nearly 8,500 bbls in 2016! Our growth is a product of our uncompromising dedication to quality and the recent commissioning of a 4-vessel 30 barrel NSI brewhouse, and CFT rotary canning line. The applicant should have a proven track record of managing a successful team and tremendous organizational skills. Our ideal candidate will help us on the path of continued growth in all areas of production.


    The ideal candidate will posses the following:
    • 5+ years of experience in a production brewery of 15,000 or more bbls production per year
    • 10+ years in the brewing industry
    • 3+ Years in a management or supervisory position
    • BA/BS in related field. Brewing Science degree or relevant classes is a plus
    • Previous experience with ERP software such as Orchestrated Beer or similar
    • Experience on a 4 vessel, 30bbl+ brewhouse
    • Experience using centrifuge
    • Solid / proven knowledge of the craft beer and brewing industry.
    • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team and maintain a positive morale in the workforce.
    • An understanding of Laboratory Operations / Quality Control procedures.
    • Extensive knowledge of industry compliance standards: including but not limited to OSHA, FDA, and TTB requirements
    • Successful candidate will be able to provide a wide range of multi-disciplined business and operational skills, while displaying excellent overall verbal/written communication skills
    • Outdoor enthusiast who wants to live the Colorado mountain lifestyle




    A list of duties and responsibilities is difficult to enumerate as this position will have changing duties but the primary duties will be:
    • Manage the work environment to be safe for all employees and visitors implementing procedures, conducting trainings, and addressing and curing safety deficiencies ensuring OSHA compliance.
    • Brand development through new beer releases.
    • Setting up and maintain a quality assurance program
    • Manage the brewery staff to maximize productivity while creating an enjoyable work environment where morale and pride are high.
    • Manage the equipment to ensure the brewery environment is always clean, all parts are in good working order, and that preventative maintenance is performed to maximize efficiency.
    • Work in conjunction with our financial controller to keep expenses to a minimum.
    • Work with our CEO and sales team to manage the production schedule to meet the needs of our distributors, local sales, in-house sales, and festival needs.
    • Manage the inventory to ensure that the production schedule can be accomplished efficiently in conjunction with our financial controller.
    • Coordinate with tradesman as needed and/or conduct repairs/installations as needed to ensure all existing or new equipment is properly maintained and installed as efficiently as possible.
    • Hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplining (including terminating if need be) of brewery staff
    • Setup and run a laboratory that will conduct regular yeast analysis, beer quality analysis, and overall assurance that our product quality and brewing methods are the best possible.
    • Assist as needed with production including brewing, cellaring, packaging, cleaning, organizing and any other ordinary brewery task.
    • Ensure daily brewery records are in compliance with TTB regulations.
    • Communicate regularly with the Owners, CEO and Financial Controller about Brewery happenings.
