Oconee Brewing Company seeks a self-motivated, ambitious, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The Assistant Brewer will be responsible for assisting with brewing operations from start to finish on a 15bbl brewhouse. Preference will be given to applicants with 2+ years of commercial brewing experience and/or a degree from an accredited brewing program.
Responsibilities
• Assist in all brewhouse operations and wort production;
• Execute proper cleaning and sanitizing techniques for all brewing equipment;
• Proper yeast handling, pitching, and harvesting of various yeast strains;
• Daily monitoring and testing of fermentation;
• Perform all beer transfers and cellar related tasks;
• Carbonate beer to specific CO2 volume levels per beer style;
• Package finished beer, including kegging and canning;
• Maintain a clean and tidy production floor;
• Perform maintenance throughout the brewery as needed;
• Manage inventory of packaged beer and brewing ingredients on hand;
• Handle ordering of brewing ingredients;
• Assist with working in tasting room; festivals; etc as needed.
Requirements
• Able to move and lift up to 55 lbs;
• Able to work in a loud, production environment;
• Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours per day;
• Work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment.
• Have a drive for continuous improvement;
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills;
This is a full-time, salaried position. Evening/weekend work required throughout the year.
