Blue Corn Brewery in Santa Fe, NM is looking for an assistant brewer. This position is 30-40 hours per week, starting in late April. Pay depends on experience.
Duties include but aren’t limited to:
-Keg cleaning and filling
-Draft line cleaning and maintenance/troubleshooting
-Cellaring: transfers, cleaning, dry-hopping, fining
-Working events as needed (some weekends and nights will be required)
-Completing and maintaining proper documentation and record keeping
-Brew house and cellar CIP’s
-Occasional beer delivery and picking up empty kegs
-Assisting in wort production and brewing
-General brewery cleaning
-Harvesting, pitching, and managing yeast
-Milling grain and staging recipes accurately
Previous experience in a brewery is strongly preferred. Job requirements are:
-A positive attitude; above all, we are looking for someone who works well in a team, is a good communicator, and who will go above and beyond to ensure our beer is of the highest quality.
-A desire to learn; we are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about beer, who has a willingness and ability to learn and develop various brewing-related skills
-Willingness and ability to work up to 40 hours per week while maintaining a flexible schedule, including working evenings and weekends, as necessary
-Must be physically fit: able to lift 55 lbs. and work on your feet all day
- Possess mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
-Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities while focusing on detail
-Good time management skills
-Working with hazardous chemicals
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- If you do not have professional brewing experience, you must show a passion or curiosity for brewing to apply. Examples include home brewing experience or brewery related reading.
