  • Help on estimating utilities and insurance for startup 7BBL

    Hello,
    Two questions:
We're putting our financials together for our startup and I have no idea how much to estimate for utilities and insurance (liability, business, etc.).

Can anyone help with some estimations on utilities (water, electricity) for a 7BBL brewery? We don't know exact building square footage yet either, so I know this is going to be a VERY loose estimate.

And business, liability and any kind of insurance you may have. I'm looking for monthly payments to put in my cash flow document.

Any help with numbers and feedback on any of this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Anna

    From the JVNW site:

    Electrical 20 – 35 kWh/bbl
    Natural Gas 2 – 3.7 Thermos/bbl
    Water 6 – 8 BBL’s water/bbl beer produced
    Refrigeration 10 – 20 BTU chiller capacity/bbl yearly capacity
Direct Fired Brew Kettle 25,000 30,000 BTU/bbl Cast Wort

    Cheers,

      Utilities/Ins Costs

Insurance including drinking on site(taproom) is about $2900 for the year, my insurance is estimated on sales under 100K per year with 100k in equipment

      Utilities range:
      7bbl Natural Gas brewhouse
      25k btu Chiller
      8x10 walk-in
      No BUILDING AC
$450 a month in summer $250 in Dec.

My water is part of my base rent so cant help with that.
