  • Oxygenation during transfer with pump

None of our fermenters hold pressure so we must transfer with pumps.

The easiest way to transfer is to let all the pressure off the bright tanks and put the pumps on 1/2 - 3/4 speed.

Is it bad for the beer to pump the beer while trying to maintain some CO2 pressure in the brights?

I've tried capping the brights during the transfer to build pressure back from 0 to about 8 psi so we are saving some CO2.

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

    Bad?

Bad for the beer? Not at all. Transferring under pressure is the norm. Get fermenters that hold pressure and you're all good.
