    Denali Brewing is looking to hire an experienced shift brewer to join our growing team in Talkeetna, Alaska. Denali brewing is a production brewery as well as a brew pub which brews on a 30bbl 4 vessel production brew house as well as a 8.5bbl brew house for specialty brews with production at 12,000bbls per year and growing. We also have a growing sour program with over 50 oak barrels and plans to grow. Applicant must be able to live in Talkeetna, Alaska full time, year round and is responsible for their own housing and/or relocation.


    Job Overview
    The purpose of the Shift Brewer is to produce highest quality beer from wort production to packaging at Denali Brewing Company.

    Qualifications:
    - Prior commercial brewing experience,
    - Extremely high level of attention to detail.
    - Ability to think and act creatively, while conforming to existing standard operating procedures and federal, state, and local regulations
    - Understanding and passion for of all aspects of beer production, including raw materials handling, yeast and fermentation management, and packaging.
    - Possess good beer knowledge and a good sense of smell, distinguishing flavors and colors in beer.
    - Possess technical/mechanical expertise and have the ability to troubleshoot brewing equipment
    - Must be in good physical condition and able to maneuver in confined spaces.
    - Ability to sit/stand/bend/walk and maintain manual dexterity for duration of work period.
    - Must be able to work independently and be able & willing to work morning, midday, overnight and/or weekend shifts.
    - Able to lift 55 lbs. and move at least 165 lbs., and work in extreme hot and cold environments.
    - Have a flexible schedule, team player, and be 21 years or older.

    Duties will include:
    - CIP of brew-house, fermenters/bright tanks, and transfer of liquid between tanks.
    - Competent knowledge of all aspects of wort production on varying sizes of brew-houses according to in-house SOP's.
    - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, tanks, and work areas to brewmaster's specifications.
    - Maintain complete separation, and knowledge of, all sour parts and processes from that of normal production
    - Maintain brew-masters specified SOPs in wort production, vessel cleaning and sanitation, yeast handling, fermentation, dry-hopping, maturation, carbonation, and infrequent kegging/packaging
    - Understand and adhere to recipes, processes, and safety procedures in all tasks.
    - Troubleshoot and report all mechanical issues to production operations manager as needed.
    - Operate and collaborate on pilot system for new and innovative brews.
