Cape Ann Brewing Co. is looking to add another brewer to our team here on the docks of historic Gloucester, Massachusetts. Cape Ann Brewing Co. is a tight knit, fast growing and forward-thinking brewery that focuses on clean, to style, and consistent beer. We have recently expanded with the addition of a canning facility and are seeking a positive, value oriented assistant brewer to assist with daily production functions in the brewhouse, cellaring and packaging. This is one of those get your hands in all facets of the brewery type gigs.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Required:
Minimum 2 years brewing experience in a production brewery
Maintain proficiency in the following production areas: brewhouse, cellar and packaging
Work week is based on a 40 hour schedule, due to production needs, incidental overtime may be required (including some weekend and holiday work)
Ability to work a flexible schedule including all three shifts, 5am-1pm, 9am-5pm and noon-8pm
Assist with the loading of raw materials and process aids in the product at various production stages
Assist in maintaining a clean, neat and safe work environment
Ability to work effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong yeast handling skills
Set up hoses, fittings and clamps as required for production and cleaning operations
Assist with the performance of production operations, CIP’s and sanitation practices with strict adherence to SOP’s set forth in training
Perform basic maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, tanks and process equiptment
Ability to frequently lift 60 pounds and move 165 pounds, plus reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Detail oriented, ability to communicate well, a passion for craft beer and a great sense of humor
Desired:

Laboratory knowledge
Great recipe development skills
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Organization/management skills
