Position Description
The Brewer’s main responsibility is to produce high quality wort in an efficient manner following all
protocols and specifications as provided. In order to help ensure all aspects of this position are
performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled
performance reviews. This full-time, permanent position reports to the Head Brewer.
Responsibilities
● Assist Head Brewer in all aspects of wort production including milling, mashing,
knockout and Clean in Place (CIP)
● Clean and sanitize brewing vessels
● Assist Cellarman in yeast management
● Maintain a clean and mechanically sound brewhouse
● Assist in recipe production
● Assist in cellar and packaging activities when necessary
● Contribute to safety and maintenance program
● Attend events and functions when necessary
● Other duties and special projects as assigned by manager
Pay Rate
$17-20/ hr
Qualifications
● 1 year experience in a production brewery
● Knowledge of brewing techniques/equipment
● Exceptional time management skills
● Exceptional multitasking/prioritizing skills
● Strong attention to detail
● Independent/self motivated
● Problem solver with grace under pressure
● Ability to adapt/think on your feet
● Ability to work a flexible schedule, working overtime as needed
Physical Demands
● Stands and/or traverses brewery for long periods of time
● Frequently climbs ladders
● Ability to squat/lie down in cramped spaces
● Frequently bends, moves, transports, or lifts 55 pounds repeatedly
● Use repetitive motions
● Can work in both hot and cold temperatures
